I hope I have that opportunity some day, too! I'd love to see my son landing on the carrier!

Becky, If my son happens to call again, I'll recommend he pack the Gorilla tape and glue. Thanks for the laugh!

Diane,
I don't blame you for being nervous! Will keep your son in my prayers. God bless him and watch over him.

Hi everyone. Just have to share ... I'm in "nervous mom" mode as my son started his Prowler carrier quals yesterday. He got in some "traps" and "takeoffs" before having some trouble causing him to return to port for repairs. If it's fixed he goes out again today through Sunday. They really need to retire these planes faster. He already has had a (successful) emergency landing last month.
My prayers are will all our children serving so proudly!

Chris....They are from up north on the range, Virignia is the name of the city he is from, still have family there. When I think it is to cold here in CA, I call his cousin for weather updates. Don't miss that sub-freezing weather.

Its was quite the season for us to have Favre play for Minnesota. We don't belong to any clubs, but had a house full for each Vikings game this year. Hope it doesn't come to an end......:)

Sorry to get off the subject a little, but love the Packer/Viking connection here - I'm a Packer fan by injection (husband from Grafton, WI and graduated from Stevens Point, he has 4 older sisters who are still in WI) - HOWEVER, I am a bigger Brett fan (sorry), so now my Sundays are torn :) There's a huge Packer Fan club here in Oregon and we go to some of the hotel parties! Our son has been wearing and carrying his cheesehead from base to base - now JAX gets to see it!

Ok, were Vikings fans (husband is from Northern Minnesota) and our son is stationed in the Green Bay. You think that doesn't make for some tension in our house!
