You're welcome BrittysMom, we don't normally recommend this but since we are unsure if extras will be allowed in and since I know several who have done this and it worked great for them I would give it a try. Just make sure you get the info and know who's list he is on. I am sure your Sailor is going to be very surprised :-)

Ladies:  If any of you post on RTC FB, please ask them today if you can use a sailor's extra guest spots for your "extras" at PIR.  They had posted about a month ago that they don't want you doing this as it can cause problems.  But I would like for someone to ask them again.  I don't post on RTC FB so can't ask them myself.  Please post if you get an answer.

For those who didn't get my BS email:  I need to leave for a while now...will have to send it again later.

Does anybody know when the Battlestation for 11/275 is? I didn't see the email about the date...if I got it I missed it.

I will gladly change my settings right now - thank you!  I'd love to receive the email with battle station dates.

Ladies, I can't keep sending out BattleStations schedules/dates individually anymore...it is taking me over an hour a day extra to do this with the different PIR groups.  Sooooo....I would like to ask each of you to please do this:

Go to your SETTINGS up top to the right, under your screen name.  Then go to EMAIL in those.  Please make sure to place a check in front of the following:

-a message from one of my groups

I believe this is the one that will allow all emails to group to come into your personal email box (not your one on N4Moms).  I can then send out changes that way rather than individually.

So please do this...I just don't have the time to spend an extra hour on here.  Already spend about 4-5 hours on here as it is!

caylex:  I deleted the other post asking that all under EMAIL be checked. See my post below which is the one that I believe will allow the "emails to group" to be received.  You may want to uncheck some of the others ones or you may get overloaded in your personal email box! 

Does anyone have a loved one performing in 941 during this weeks graduation? If so, i'll be there for my husbands graduation and i'm going to try to take a lot of photos if i can!

I missed the post that explains how it is you know when the BS are taking place? (Not that I don't trust your information, it is just that when my son called home a couple weeks ago, he said that battle stations were a surprise to the recruits, that they wouldn't know in advance when their test day was. Obviously, whomever told him that did not have the correct information.)  I'm just so thankful to know the date (extra prayers and even better "Phone Glueing").

caylex:  They are told when their BS will be, but usually not until a couple of weeks before PIR.  Be sure to read the discussion above "More BattleStations" if you haven't already.  In that discussion is a link with info...and on the link page, there is a presentation by "Craig" at the bottom that gives even more info. 

1DYBUGs:  Funny!  I know that since I'm on so many groups, my personal email was getting swamped.  I removed many of the checks...we do what we have to do!  But it really will be so much easier to have this info sent to the group as a whole....my head has been spinning for about 3 days now trying to get BS info to PIR 8/12, 8/19, and 8/26!  Just can't quite stay at this pace! 

DianneP - I have gone in a checked the email me when "a message from one of my groups".  Hopefully now, I will be able to see when my SR goes through Battlestations!!

I'm pretty sure that everyone one of us on this site really appreciates every minute you spend out of your day keeping us all informed - so from the bottom of all of our hearts THANK YOU!!!!

I will be eternally grateful for this site and everyone on it.  I struggled terribly (it took 27 days to reach a point where I didn't cry every day), and if I had not had this wealth of information and support available to me, I'm not sure what I would have done.

my daughter is in 941 and will be performing. I am going to take as many pictures as I can as well! I hope I gat some good ones  : )

caylex I ditto what you posted!  This site has been a blessing...both the support and the info.  I only wish every loved one who has a recruit leaving, were given info about N4M's.  I just happened upon it, but boy am I glad I did.  My experience here, has given me my own story to share....about my own personal journey through bootcamp.  I mention N4M's all the time in my letters (which my SR gets tickled at) and share with family/friends here at home.  Having this forum has given me a sense of control over my very out-of-control moments at times. LOL!  A big thank you to everyone.....especially the veterans, whose knowledge and wisdom have been priceless!!!  HOOYAH!!!!

Someone asked about being on another SR's list. RTC's response was this:

"If you are on another recruits list; you need to know their name and division number and hope they pass everything they need to to graduate."

I posted this on the RTC facebook page--

RTC--If more than 4 people want to come to a SR's PIR, could the extra people be added to another SR's list that doesn't have 4 people on it?

This is the response that I got:

just received a phone call from my SR!!! what a relief , i didn't miss it!. best 25 minutes i've had in a while. 2/272 is doing well, says he's passing all inspections and tests. 17 more days can't come soon enough.

Did anyone from 941 get a call yesterday, or received a call in the last couple of days??? We have not spoken to our SR. She has left us two messages. We kept the cell on our sides all day yesterday,even during church, but no call.

Kira's Mom- do you know what she will be doing? ex. sticks, honor guard?

You can bring extra people along to PIR. More than like;y they will get in. They all need ID and may not get to sit with you. They get in line with you. The sailors that are at the "registration" table will let you know what to do. Having said this,you have a large group and the extras may not get in, but sadly not all SRs get to have family there for a variety of reasons so there will probably be plenty of room.

Problems on the BStations schedule I have....so I need for anyone who has a date for their division to please message it again to the group.  We'll start over and try this again!  With 13 divisions going, can get a bit confusing!

Please use "Send Message To Group" prompt at the top.  Doreen, I received yours but please let me know if you hear for sure which of those 3 days they start.    Remember, everyone, this is an overnight drill so there will be 2 dates.

Ship 07, DIV 271. Just want to say, I do NOT have a date to share for BS's & I have only received 1 "real" phone call. :( My heart aches but I am SO super proud of my SR and can't wait 'til 08/26!! Whoo!Hooo! :)

Trapier, Our last phone call from our SR in Div 941 was last Sunday. We have only received 2 letters so far. If I hear anything I will post it. If you get a call please let me know too.

If you sent a order for ribbons to wear to PIR and have paid for them, they are now finished and I will have them shipped tomorrow morning. I still have a few that I haven't received payment for so if you need the information again on how to pay with PayPal or you need my mailing address just send me a message. You still have time to get the order/payment to me and for me to make and ship your ribbons. Please let me know how you like the ribbons when you receive them. Thanks a bunch :-)

Mikes Mom Ship 07 DIV 270: Wow! A phone call today!! Lucky mom!! My son is the brother DIV 271, no call :-( I wonder why we have only had one "real" call this entire time?? (big sigh) Just miss him so much! I know he's in good hands & I am so proud! :)

Alright, who here is from 274?! :) Next week I need some help! I was soooo close last week I wanted to kick myself. This week I didn't stand a chance. Lol

I know it's like you have to see the hint, go to the page you think it will be on, copy and paste something that sounds like it would be something they'd choose to ask, and pray that it's what you need lol

That's exactly why I don't ever respond because I would never be quick enough! I read the hint today and then the question appeared - no chance!!!!

16 days till PIR!!! So is anyone getting your SR a grad gift? We bought ours a phone where he will be able to face to face chat while at A school (GL). We turned off his phone after he left but his phone didn’t have the ability to skype so we got him another one. Also my sis is buying him a netbook or tablet & he will be able to skype from that as well. Hopefully he will be able to take these things with him that weekend, save me the trouble of mailing them to him. Also have you all discussed pictures with your SR? I read on another thread that if they order & pay for Pkg A before PIR they will get a free keel (yearbook), the cost was $140 at the time that thread was posted. See link below for more details.

We are buying our son a new smart phone.  Just before he left for BC he said, "I can't wait to get a cool phone, my phone is so lame!"  And it is.  But it was a spare phone and he got to use it free because he worked part-time for my dad's business.  I think my parents are getting him a big iTunes card (he LOVES music) and my sis is giving him cash and a couple restaurant gift cards.

 

Congrats to those that got calls - I am sooo hoping for one before the "Im A Sailor".  Just one call so far and 3 letters.  But I am thankful for every word from him.  Like most families, this has been a huge adjustment at our house and sadly I have made it harder on my husband and our daughter (who misses her big brother terribly) because I struggle with this on a daily basis. I am getting better and am trying so hard to be strong.  It helps knowing that PIR is just a little over two weeks away!

Sometimes emails on this site get lost somewhere so if I don't respond within 12 to 24 hours then I didn't get the friend request or message and you should send me a regular email for sure.

I know your daughter will feel like her grandmother is with her in her new venture as a US Navy Sailor.

So glad that the media was not allowed today at Dover Air Force Base when the bodies of the SEALS and other US servicemen were returned to their families.  This should be a special time for just the families as they receive their "heroes" who gave their lives for their country.

I want to again suggest "Sarge" to those looking for transporation during PIR weekend....to/from airport and/or around town/to and from PIR.  One of the N4Moms from 8/5 posted today that he was wonderful.  She apparently had tried to use another service and it was awful.  She called Sarge and he was just what she needed. Reasonable rates and available with reasonable notice.  He is full of info for you all too!  Will even take you to the airport to meet up with your sailor.

I will be sending out BattleStations info again using the SEND MESSAGE TO GROUP prompt.  If you don't have this checked, you may not receive it.  I now have 6 divisions "confirmed" (by you all) for BattleStations.  Will send these out soon....after giving you all time to change your EMAIL settings. The ones I have confirmed are 269-274.
