Good Morning all.. Doing okay here. I did contact Sarge's taxi service for our visit the 10th. They will get back to me next week so I guess they have to work on their schedules, with covid and all. Looking on their site, prices are reasonable. We may use uber between hotel and base but will see, if I can get the taxi will use that first.
I wish I knew what week my SR was in, seems like new stuff starts on Thursdays and weekends don't seem to count so pull hair out.

Good Morning All, hope today finds all well. I'm at work already starting the day with a Dr. pepper not much of a coffee drinker, had a very restless night could not go to sleep and when I did it was already to get up, UGH! tried to clear my mind but it didnt work so i'm lagging a bit but I'm sure I will start with the Hustle and Bustle soon.
Well today more I'm a Sailor calls will be coming Through so please keep your Phones close by side and On High!
Remember folks if you havent received the Call of I'm a Sailor make sure to change your message on phones, you may be in the sky flying out and if your Loved One calls at least your Message will satisfy them. "leave Like I'm sorry i missed your Call but I am on my way, I Love you and so very Proud"! I received my call a week prior to us Leaving and on a Friday, so it just depends. but you always want to be ready!
Hope you all have a very blessed day!

Trey - I am not the expert on BC weeks. When mine was in, it was plain and simple and my son graduated on the date the recruiter told us he would. And my son knew that was the date I was expecting so did everything in his power to make sure it happened. That was 4 years ago and I wish I could say since then it has stayed the same but it hasn't.
Do you have your sailor's division #? If you have that then you can check out his graduation date on the RTC bootcamp website or ask one of us to help you figure it out.

Usually you would count 9 Fridays including the week he/she entered to get a date of PIR, but now you have to add on a few more weeks because of the quarantine process.

Trey
He has a grad date the sept 10. div 399. so I know he is getting close, I just like to look at the what they are doing this week to have some idea of what he is doing.

Good Morning everyone! I am playing catch up on messages in my email feed and I just wanted to remind all of you - PLEASE be sure to scroll back through the pages and look for your name and a possible reply to a question or post. I know that BelovdbyHim has responded to a lot of you and so I won't comment as well. If you still aren't sure, please don't hesitate to ask again.
FYI and I stand to be corrected on this as well - but I believe if you get a hotel with a swimming pool for PIR weekend and you want your sailor to be able to swim with you, they must be in their PT running shorts or swim trunks because that is issued gear and the same as them being in uniform for the pool area. Otherwise, civilian clothes are only allowed inside your hotel room, when out in public they must be in their uniform.
For those of you going to PIR this weekend - Love, hugs, and safe travels!! When you get back be sure to share your experience and also come join us in the Beyond BC group! We look forward to helping you through A school, and keeping up with your sailor.

Very Good Info, This is Mrs. Beloved post that she has put together.
Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
The Expected timeline will look like this
Day 0 -- Travel, Arrival and "I'm Here" scripted phone call
Week 1&2
Day 1-14 -- ROM (Restriction of Movement/ Quarantine-- Lots of studying and waiting) Unless they are Fully Vaccinated (2 weeks after final shot) in which case they skip straight to Week 3.
Week 3
Day 15-21 Arrive Onboard RTC and begin P-days (P-days- Initial Processing Days) including 2 days of P-hold (Weekend)
Day 21-- Complete P days. (Initial PFT & Run)
Week 4- First week of training
Day 22-- Begin training and mail form letter out. Look for it to arrive around 1-2 weeks later
Week 5 -- First inspections and tests (Dental May be this week or next... Not Confirmed)(Form letter/ Personal letters usually arrive this week)
Week 6 -8 -- More training, Drilling (Flags and Marching), Fire Fighting training, Marlinspike (Line handling- How to tie up a Ship to the Pier) and weapons lessons, Confidence chamber( May or may not be happening yet, we don’t know for sure).. Warrior training in here somewhere.
Week 9 & 10 -- Stressful!! They have all their final inspections, PFA, Drills, BS21 and Tests. This is the lead up to the end!!
All of this is assuming no exposure to COVID with additional ROM
Training typically occurs Monday - Friday but we have heard rumors that Saturday’s are now training days as well.
Normal PIR will be 10 Fridays (8 if they arrive fully vaccinated) after departure from Home but it can be less by 1 but it can be extended by ???? (lots!!) It just depends on how many times they get caught in the “Ring of Fire” but do not get COVID. IF they get COVID, Once they are recovered they will not be removed from training again even if they are in the “Ring of Fire”. (so there is that small silver lining if kids get sick) Some Divisions are taking longer to fill and some Vaccine verification's are taking longer than expected so just remember, No News is GOOD News!!!

Trey - That makes sense, I know when my son was in BC my husband found me a timeline of activities through a Google search. Later though we found out from my son that it was all different than what they had posted LOL! But it made me feel better!

Hello all.. my son is 1 week in today. He is fully vaccinated so I am thinking he will be there 8 weeks, assuming he passes everything. I have to wait for his letter to know his exact PIR date, correct? And to know his group number?
Aug 19, 2021
Chipmunk
Dadyoftwins360 - You are doing great and you will get the hang of it. Stick around and we will help you through. Hopefully, you will be getting a form letter from your 1st one soon.
drc2873 - Yes, your form letter will have his PIR date and also his Division #. Those can take anywhere from 2 - 3 ish weeks if no quarantine. If you happen to get a call from your sailor prior to the form letter ask if they have a Ship and Division # yet. If you can get a Ship # and a Division # then we can help you get an address to go with it. If they don't know their ship # but the name of the ship, it might take a little more work but we can hopefully get the right ship # to go with the name.
Always be sure to keep phones close, ringers on loud and answer every call.

Dadyoftwins360 drc2873 Welcome to the Both of You, dont worry about reading past questions Please just ask. At one time if you counted 9 Fridays including the week he left you would get a PIR date at least close. But Now they have to quarantine so that adds a few weeks. I Will put some sites down and this will let you know about the testing he will be doing and when the form letter will be sent. Welcome again.

First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition
When will the Form Letter come and what is in it?
The form letter will arrive in your regular mail around nine to fourteen business days after the recruit's arrival at RTC since it is not mailed until a division’s 1-1 Day of Training, which takes place after your recruit has taken and passed the run portion of the Baseline PFA, which is on or about the fifth business day after arrival (later if the division that your recruit was tentatively placed in upon arrival did not fill until a later date). See Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT).

He put all of his ROM letters in one envelope, and there was another one from this past Sunday. They were so funny! He said he felt like he was going to starve to death, and when he's done he's going to eat a whole pizza by himself!
After the ups and downs of this week, it was so good to get these. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our family.
Hopefully there will be a form letter from our daughter soon.
