Hello,my son left for boot camp on 8-30-12. Anyone else have a child who left then? I'd love to hear from you.

Day 1

Posted on August 31, 2012 at 10:33am 6 Comments

Well, I was able to sleep last night after watching my son get in that van and drive away to start the newest chapter in his life. I cried so much the last two days I think I was exhausted! I got the call that he was ok, that I'd be getting "the box", a letter in a week and another call in 3 weeks. Now I'm going to drive myself crazy for 3 weeks wondering what he's doing, how he's doing, and if he's ok.

Hi, my son is Spencer.  He is 19, but fresh out of high school.  We are from Castle Rock, CO.  Spencer chose the Navy after about a year & 1/2 of trying to decide b/w the different military branches.  We are so glad that he chose Navy over some of the others.  He is a strong kid; has played football & other sports for 12 years, ranched a few summers, worked construction & landscape.  But, as soon as I left him at MEPS on the 28th, I felt like I was leaving him at Kindergarten all over again.  I was a wreck the 1st week he was gone, but am getting better.  I am so glad that I can finally connect w/ others going thru the same thing.  How about your son, what is he like?

No I didn't get his address yet. I did call his recruiter and she was on her way out the door but told me to call her first thing tomorrow morning and she would give it to me. Glad you got Bryan's :)

I missed a phone call form Anthony today :( I hope you got a call from Bryan. Anthony called my in-laws and said that they get a small amount of time on Saturdays to make a phone call.

Just to let you know we are not able to email the video yet. Looks like the file is way to big. Scott is trying to figure out how we can make it small so that we can send it.
