OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since your SR has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 945 is Triple Threat. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Amy, it is so nice to meet you. N4Ms is an amazing site. I am not sure how I would have made it through these last four weeks without this site and the FB groups. What is your SR doing in Div 945? My son is on drill team. Do you have Facebook? If so, you should join the PIR 9/20/13 group and 900 Divison group. This site is wonderful but it seems like you hear a lot more most of the time on the FB groups. They also have a Pensacola A School group if your SR is heading there. Are you going to PIR?
