Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to ANYONE with access to the web. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Try to text your son and ask a good time to call...this worked with mine. ( He finished A School and is waiting to go to proto type.) My son said they get texts more easily than phone calls and then he can get uniform on and step out side and call you.  Also, a great time to reach mine during the week was 430 before he ate an early dinner.  Also Sat. am, sometimes they study on Sunday.  It gets better.  Laura

Justin seems to be doing very good.  I talked to him yesterday afternoon for a little over an hour.  He is loving the weather , and he mentioned that he needed to go and buy a bike to get around.    I guess that Tim is 2 floors below him but they go down to hang out together !

I have been trying to stay busy, to keep from getting down.  When he calls I smile and everyone that I am around knows who is on the phone !

How is Tim adjusting ?  I heard that the room he got was visited by a cotton mouth snake last summer.....YIKES.  I will be doing a lot of praying for all of our boys.  If you are on facebook please friend request me Jamie Holmes Imkamp .   I would also like to meet more moms with boys that are with ours !   I am not good at this site yet, so if you know some of the moms maybe we could get in touch ?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get in touch with you. I have some stuff going on with kids still at home and have been crazy busy.  If you have some additional questions, concerns or worries feel free to contact me. I'll do better at getting back.  Are part of the Nuke moms fb page?  If you are at all interested let me know.  You have to be invited to join but the information is amazing and the other Moms are truly wonderful.

Hi, thanks for reaching out.  I'm doing okay - trying to stay focused on the positive aspects of the journey.  Hope you are doing well.  Wish I'd known about this website prior to my son's departure but nonetheless, happy it's here and find it helpful.  Going online shortly to research flights.  Are you flying out of Bradley?
