OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Is your Sailor still serving? If so, then where is he stationed?

If you would like information on your future Sailor's rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

I see you have a second one shipping in April 2019.

Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC

I also suggest you come back to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there. Some things have changed since you last had a recruit at the RTC.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC in most cases.

Chris...so happy you shared info from your last letter. My SR is my grandson and I cherish the calls because he has written only once. He is in Div 141 and I pray they did as well as 142.
