OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)
If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.

Thanks in advance for your willingness to write the young man.  My son says he is from the Ivory Coast, so I would imagine all this snow has been a real shock to his system!!  Also, my son has requested that we “maintain a level of anonymity” for him (my son).  Perhaps he is concerned the other recruit will be embarrassed or offended if he knew one of fellow-recruits had arranged “pity mail” for him…

The recruit’s name and address are:

SR Assovie, Eymar

Ship 14 Div 142

Recruit Training Command

3410 Sailor Drive

Great Lakes, IL 60088-3510

Thanks again!!
