I can imagine how hard is must be to have your husband gone especially with 3 children  I hope you have family around you for support . How long have you been in San Deigo? We flew Paige out to San Diego for a few day after she unlisted , she wanted to visit the base there., after a school she will be stationed there , unless things change, which they shouldn't! Paige picked calif as the place she wanted to be.  Wow so your hubby and Paige will be at the same base!!  Small world. I was upset about it because its sooooo far , but my best high school girl friend lives there as well , her and her husband are navy, so she's promised to look out for her, not that she needs looking out for. And I'll be able to go out and visit, and heliaua we can skye, FaceTime , text and talk all the time in her letter last week she asked me if I was able to hook up with anyone from her division on n4m and I told her about you, and your husband being div leader, she will think that is so cool! I told her I was hoping to meet you at the meet and greet before PIR  Paige told me unless things changed that there is 87 men and 3 women in the division!! Hey I told her, lucky you!!  Wouldn't I love to be surrounded by all theses men in uniform!! Lol!  Well we have 11 days left, my husband is going to try and print up the parking pass today, you can print it up 11 days before graduation, we rented a car and we've decided to drive to the base, we will be getting there about 6:30 am  to wait and process thru the gates!! Sarge from the meet and greet provides valet service from all the hotels but we want to be able to get right back to the hotel (navy lodge) after graduation because they go right into debriefing after PIR and the wait could be.    Anywhere between 2 and 5 hours before they can be realsed on liberty!! Why threy can debrief before PIR is beyond me!! It cuts into our time with our loved ones!  My friends husband just went thru PIR at great lakes she has been telling me all the things that could and will happen.. The only good thing is there is only 5 div graduating, usually it's between 12 and 15. So that's a help. My daughter has a car load of guy friends that are driving from here to the PIR, there nuts!, it's an 18 hour ride!! But I'm sure they will be able to get in because of the small graduating number.  There is no amount of money you could pay me to drive.  So who is going with you?  What hotel are you staying at, we were at the courtyard but I switched us to the navy lodge, because it's closer almost walking distance to the base and the people that run it are all retired navy and they seem so nice and accomadating!   And can you believe it's only 65.00 tax incl to stay there, it's not the Hyatt regency, for sure but it will be good for us. Hopefully it's a decent enough place because it was my idea, and I don't want to hear anything from my husband, about the rooms! He's kinda picky  I have read the reviews and they were all and all decent! We will see soon!  The rooms everywhere actually I found to be reasonable, they make it easy for navy families to afford it!!  What will you be doing on liberty with your husband?  Paige wants fast food and cheese it's , why I have no idea? Kinda rando, but it's what she wants.  So is your husband leaving right away to San Diego? Does he have to live on the base?? Can he live with you  and the kids? It's so nice he's near you!!  There is no bases around here everything it he closest is Maryland I believe!  Maine use to have one but it closed.  Paige is planning on making the navy her life, she's got a lot of schooling ahead of her, she's going in a field where there is only 2 percent women.  She missed going in as an officer by like 2 credits! I wanted her to stay and do tmake up the credits, so she could be an officer instead of an e3 but of course she did not want to she knew better, Paige lives life on her terms, her way, she strong mined, strong will, and stubborn as a mule, Iand a mouth that doe

Hi colleen, it was wonderful you got to hear your son sing at easter mass! Im sure your husband was there in spirit! Im sure the kids are missing him, especially if he had never been away? Are they adjusting to the change well? At least you have a video to show him! It is so hard having a loved one gone, not to mention on a holiday! Could not convince my husband to humor me and have an egg hunt. Every year even no the girls are grown we still have an egg hunt, you just use dollar bills to fill the eggs instead of candy, Yes I do have another daughter ashley shes 28 married and living a distance away. I finally posted a pic Paige  is on the right and ashley on the left. There as thick as thieves. that pic was taken hours before she left. Im still getting use to the fact shes actually in the navy! after 4 years of college and a good job she gave it all up to live her dream. She wants to be a navy pilot and figured this way her only way it was going to happen! She litreally came home one afternoon last month and told me she had been to the recuriters and was going in the navy, If the recuriter would not have shown up at my house I would not have believed it!  So she told me she enlisted and was gone all within a month. Im still trying to wrap my head around it!! I havent even been in her room since she left! Im trying not to make this about my feeling, its about paige living her dream, I just miss her so much she was the breath of fresh air that blew thru the house every day! She is so funny, she makes everyone laugh! I haent laughed since she left. I think everything is worse because she has not called me once. In her letters shes frustrated about it but there is nothing she can do. I know in 11 days Ill see her, cant wait! Im sure you miss your husband and the kids miss the father just as much!! I need to stop wollowing and see the huge sacarfice paige as made! Ill tell you there cannot be on this earth a mother more proud! I admire and look up to her! just wish I had a little of her strength and determination. i cant say enough about how this website has helped me, were all in this together and we all share the same feelings.  Just wish they could have been given 1 phone call even a minute of hearing her voice would be all I could ask for!! Cant wait to meet all of you moms wives and families!! 11 days and counting!!
