DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your full name. You also need to change the URL (address) to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Good afternoon!

I cannot remember if I RSVP’d for the Family Welcome & Greet
/ Meet. The PIR is 2/9th.
Is it too late? How do I check or confirm RSVP?
Thank you.

He is in division 096. I don’t know his rating or anything but would live to be more informed. I am aware that he is scheduled to leave for A - School the following day after PIR. Will families be with their Sailors during times set for Family Wrlcome meet and greet times?
I’m not sure I know when I will get to spend time with him when we arrive the morning a day before PIR.
Thank you

Glad to help you out. It looks like you are fairly new on N4M - be sure to let Lemonelephant  know your son's rating. She can help you connect with others where his A school will be. Hopefully you can get more advice from them on what to expect after PIR. My son flew out as well to his A school. He had a long delay in getting his orders actually finalized, so we only saw him for a couple of hours on Friday after PIR. And he wanted to be back to RTC by 7:30 pm. It really is better to get them back early, the line of cars was very long and they are not allowed to be dropped off outside of the gate.

Those that fly out will usually do so on Saturday morning from any one of the 3 area airports, and the buses leave very early in the morning from RTC. Since we had driven to GL, and our route was back south, we checked out of our hotel room at 1 am and drove to O'Hare airport where we stayed with our son until he left on one of the earliest flights out in the morning.

If your sailor is flying out, it really is best to stay as flexible as possible, and not plan to do a lot of extra things. Stick nearby RTC and find out what your sailor wants to do. They can not be late returning and early is always better. Also, you will want to plan to go to the airport to at least give him his cell phone so that he can call you and communicate easily with you once he is at A school. That doesn't mean he will have a lot of time, but it makes getting further information like his new address and schedule easier.

Hi there - to delete your last name you start out on your "my page".  Click on "settings" on the left.  Then click on "My page".  3rd option down shows the "address".  Change it there - you can put your user name there and then be sure to hit "save" at the bottom.  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

We ask that our members not use a last name in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
