Hi Christy, I have to admit I am a little anxious regarding the battle stations tonight. Have you received any updates from Jordan?

Being in a Push Division has nothing to do with how much time he will have PIR weekend and based on his division number, it is strange that he would say that he is in a Push Division, since those are usually the last up to 4 divisions within the TG, but some strange things happened with his TG so they may consider more divisions in that TG as Push Divisions. He will not know his flight details until the week of PIR. Plan for him to leave as he says, but be prepared for him to fly out on the Saturday after PIR. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

JMom, I heard from my son Dan tonight. He said the division was doing very well. He said he knows Jordan and will tell him that we have been in touch. Dan seems very well adjusted and says his Battle station is in a week and a half of Sunday. He said it seems a little easier now that they are in the home stretch. Let me know if you get any other info. Will I see you at PIR?

Has he seen a classifier and received a new contract or is he just wanting to make the change? It is unusual for a recruit to be able to make that change in BC. I see those in special ops making a change following a DOR, but seldom do those with a contract for another rating get to request a change in rating. You mentioned that he was going to be an Airman; if he had a contract in the A-PACT program, that might explain it if someone saw potential and knew that he was Undesignated, but it would still be unusual. (See Professional Apprenticeship Career Tracks (PACT) Program.)

Yes, Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). I see you have joined MAA Moms and New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active, but is picking up lately); another group to check out is Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones); I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted". What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
