Yes, Margie. This place has been helped me a lot. And I understand the "single parenting while married". I did that for 9 years. I always worried raising my boys if I was doing a good job. It is a time like this, watching my son become a man, I know I did a good job. Have you made hotel reservations? We are stay at the Springhill Suites Marriott in Waukegan Thursday & Friday. I plan on going to the Meet & Greet Thur night. Will be fun to meet everyone! Have a good holiday weekend! Karen

Margie,

Our boys are in the same div. Two Texas boys! Benn is my oldest and I have another son just starting high school. I'm a single mom and getting use to all the changes is tough some days. I saw on facebook the posts about having their wisdom teeth out. That was my BIG worry, but I feel so much better after reading the post & how well they take care of them.

Hi Margie,  my son's recruiter called me yesterday and gave me his ship and div numbers.  I still want to wait for the formal letter but my daughter wants to mail the letters out.  I hope they get to him some how.  I started the count down tomorrow we are down to 50 days.  And that is only if his PIR date is actually oct 14.  I have good moments and bad but pretty much I just feel empty.  I'm trying not to feel like this but it is just an empty feeling in side.  Keep strong and hope we can help each other.

Hi Margie. I feel the same way. I was down the shore this weekend with family and its the first weekend down with out my SR. Today has been hard trying to keep my mind busy but haven't received any thing yet. No box or form letter. I even called his recruiter to get the ship # and div # to start mailing letters and he hasn't received any info yet. I will have to check out the facebook page and see if we see any one. Keep strong cuz im trying its hard but counting down the days to their PIR date is helping some what. Keep in touch. Good luck

Hi Margie. I received my phone at 4. I stayed on my couch all night with my phone attached to my ear so I wouldn't miss his his call. It was nice to hear his voice but I just miss him. I know he is excited about being a sailor but these next 8 weeks are going to be really long. Im trying to get his address but so far no luck.
Hang in there. Im here if you need to chat.
