Does anyone have information on how a sailor can be adopted? I got my phone call from my daughter this weekend and she has a cold and is really home sick. She told me the church is coming by for…Continue

My daughter left on November 5th for boot camp. She was so excited to go because she had never been on a plane. We text back and forth up until she reported to boot camp. It made me feel better to hear the excitement and confidence in her voice, I know she made the right choice! I am still waiting on her package they send home and the information on graduation ceremonies. I worry about her as all moms do and it's the not knowing that driving me crazy.

Since recruit has a contract for Hospital Corpsman (HM), sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio and check out Basic Medical Technician Corpsman Program Facebook Page. You may also want to check out Corpsmen Moms and Dads. The Rating Information Card for HM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/hm.pdf; it indicates 19 weeks, but "A" School is 14 weeks after classing up. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School on 01/01/2015 or 01/02/2015. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Hello, I received the letter yesterday and my daughter is graduating on December 31. I also heard they would have liberty on Thursday but no confirmation from anyone. I just purchased my airline tickets and I'm sooooooo excited. I booked my hotel the night before she left as well. I'm not sure when she ships out or where she will be going to. I think it's Pensicola but I'm not sure if they will allow her to come home before that or if she goes straight to there.
I saw your post on the PIR information page and wanted to comment. My sont shipped on Nov 6th and will also have PIR on the 31st. The 31st is not a federal holiday, but the 1st is which is why it was moved to wed from friday. If they attend A school somewhere besides great lakes, they should ship out on friday and should have liberty on thurs.
If your daughter gets a ship date, go to the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. At the bottom are links for each of the months, join the one for the month that your future Sailor ships.
