KarlaA...l, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your full name. You also need to change the URL (address) to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

If you would like information on your recruit’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

E3 navy mom,

And now, I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor.  I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in boot camp now?  Please feel free to jump in and join our conversations on our group page.  You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life.  We are all in different phases of our daughter’s Naval careers - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!

E3 navy mom,

First let me thank you for changing your profile name so that is does not include your last name.  However, you must also change your URL for your profile as that still contains your last name.  I am posting the directions to make those changes if you need them.

"When you need to change the name on your URL: Click on "Settings" in the upper left part of your profile page. Under My Settings click on "My Page" The next screen says "My Page Settings" in the middle. Go down to "Address" and in the box next to "http://www.navyformoms.com/profile/", make the change to just your user name, and/or random letters and numbers, with no spaces or use underscores for the spaces. Then go to the bottom and click the "Save" button. If you are making the changes on your Smart phone, you will need to change to Desktop View before making this change because in the mobile view, you will not have the option to make the change and the URL will already be different from your Username."

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

We ask that our members not use a last name or email address in their Username - even if it differs from their Sailor's - so please head to “Settings” on the main page right away to set your new Username (be creative!) and add a profile image (no last names visible) to complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you.  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
