OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

I see you have changed your Username, you may also need to change the URL to this page. If you do, make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to ANYONE with access to the web. It's not a good idea to post a ic of your Sailor every time you post, so also make change 4. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your Sailor.

You may also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not very active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well).

Thank you for the info regarding my son getting to school in time for the fall.  He is so worried. Your response will put him at ease. Regarding Tuition assistance I have been doing research but I really am confused with what he is eigible for.  did your daughter get tuition assistance?  Is it the Montgomery Bill?  Would really appreciate any info you might be able to share.  Have a blessed day. Welcome to N4M. Here are some groups you should consider joining. They will help you get adjusted.
Click on the underlined links:

2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program – a depper)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is he/she already in bootcamp? Or just about to go in? This is the group.

Welcome to New Members
The “Search” function should be your new best friend. You should do searches in blogs, forums, discussions for answers in previously posted threads BEFORE adding a NEW blog/discussion. Finally, it takes time to learn how to use this site. Be patient. Check your page & status box often.
