OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

There are no groups for just those with loved ones with the Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) rating, so join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/am.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Be sure and check out the Survival Guide for Newbies…It has some valuable info you would like to know :) It can be found here: http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/survival-guide-for-navy-for-moms-newbie
