If Katie rec'd a jury summons here in MI, the first thing that I would do is contact the court via the # on the form (if there is one) and explain their situation.

I remember contacting the courts when our oldest got one and was 5 hours away at college.  For here, they reassigned her over her winter break.

I ran into Garret at FL. I know the system let him down. I am sure they will get things squared away. If it is any concellation he looks good and was in good spirits. Iam sorry that I could not do anything to help him I hope he gets home for leave. Obviously they knew he was there so he should not be charged with leave while at FL

I am trying to figure out whether I should make the trip or not. He said they are pretty much stuck on the base. His chief is trying to get them overnight liberty for those that have family coming in, however the Chief said there are no guarantees. I live 7-8 hours away and have an RV. I am debating whether or not to drive down and at least hope he gets leave or Liberty for a day or so. He says he is OK with being on the base but I can tell it is frustrating.

I spoke to a friend of mine who was Army and he said that if the base is filling up those on hold will start flying out of there since the Commander of the base will start complaining. This fits to what you posted yesterday and what TXPA Family said. Let me know if I can do anything for your son if he is still down there

Thanks for the info. maybe they are freeing up the pipeline. I must say I am confused about the way todays military operates. I feel bad for the sailors trying to get a flight on such short notice

Join CS (Culinary Specialist) Moms. You will also want to check out Joint Culinary Center of Excellence Facebook Page and Joint Culinary Training Directorate (JCTD). The Rating Information Card for CS can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/cs.pdf. That indicates 9 weeks, but  as you know, "A" School is 5-6 weeks after classing up.
