OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Osheatoo2 - Your comments below just posted here to your profile page, but I saw that you did post a question in the BC Mom group. It is not uncommon for SRs to miss something on their fitness test and have to be set back. If you have his ship and Division # you can locate his mailing address here : Recruit Training Command - FAQ (navy.mil) - that should bring up the ship addresses. If you keep scrolling down that page there is information about delays in training.
One of our regular moms who does post had a daughter who was set back. I haven't seen her on today but maybe she will see your question and share.

His graduating is pushed out a month though, from 8/5 to 9/2.

So he'll be in another division and his graduation date will change. This isn't really a problem as travel won't be an issue...but still disquieting. I also got a letter (written when he still had a sense of humor), and two questionnaires I had sent him. I know this is just the next challenge, but wish I could help somehow. He lost 40 lbs to get in the Navy, then caught COVID 5 minutes after getting there. I know it's all part of the PLAN...but still hard to not be able to help. Thanks for listening!

Osheatoo2, - Welcome to this site and also to BC Mom group. I see that belovedbyHim has welcomed you as well. Her son has been in the Navy almost twice as long a mine and my sailor is coming up on 5 years now.
Please do come to the BC Mom group page, scroll down past the information posted, past the discussions and then you will find a Comment Wall. That is the best place to post questions and share your concerns or emotions, as well as make connections with those of us who have been around awhile but don't join each of the PIR groups that are formed.

We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 4 weeks (ish) and the 10 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
As for the Covid Question, It may. My advice is to write to your SR and ask them since they will have the For Sure Answer!! You can use the address you got in the letter. It's a good Idea to add (In ROM) on the front so they can locate him. In the past they would be set back 2 weeks but times are changing and this may or may not cause them to be set back.
Posting in the Boot Camp Moms Chat thread really is the best way to get quick answers and make good connections while your SR is away.

Osheatoo2 - I saw your post in the main room chat. Not everyone sees those posts and they will disappear after a bit. I really encourage you to join the Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) - Navy For Moms (ning.com) group here on this site. If you click on the link above, or the blue letters below in B'sNukeMom's post you will go to the group page, click in the upper right (I think) where it says + Join.
When you do join the group, scroll down past all the information, past the Discussions and then go to the Comment Wall. I would post your question there. We have some of the our "Covid" Moms who dealt with more of the ROMs (restriction of movement) if a SR (seaman recruit) got COVID or was around someone else with it. They will be able to give you some better information to answer this post -

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.
