Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

ok 2 days down  got my phone call tuesday 6:30 . things are a mess here at home ..car troubles. last week and a half ago was Joe's blazer now its his dad disel truck.. fuel pump went out and burned out the ignitors... 4 of them ouch.. at least i know my boy is safe

okay got my I'm here phone call tonight.. now to wait for the address .. starting the writing now and labeling/dating them. Time has flown by.. and family and friends call and ask how I am doing.. too soon yet  I am okay..this is way different then when younger brother went off to college.who will be home for winter break soon.. going to be strange with only 1 around the house. i did go to the video site for tour of GL to see what he's up to or about.

hope your doing well, dad is asleep and Joe went with Craig to hang out. don't blame him for wanting a buddy right now not mom.. time flew by we take him for breakfast and then the office to send him off to desplaines.can't sleep... hope the next 2 months go by as fast as the last 2 after he enlisted..with christmas and baking, working have lots to keep me busy.having mixed feelings.. hope to get some crying out of system so no tears in the morning. but  i know it will be hard.

talked with my Joe last night before he went out with friends to hang out over coffee. He's ready .. hope I am.. been good at not letting him see me cry.. he proably thinks it doesn't bother me.. thats a joke.. tears flow freely...God i'm going miss him but this is his calling and the hard part will be BC once that is over he feels it will be much easier. He has a friend, girl going to Great Lakes same time. I am lucky we're just 1 1/2 hour away and his A school will also be Great Lakes. thanks for the encourgaging words.

hi Pam, been busy as you know, various emotions..with him leaving in 6 days.. had a small accident last night but okay, car just looks like someone punched or karate kicked it in the side.(rear qtr panel by trunk) turned in to get gas and bamb. looked at his post with pictures with his friends and the tears start.. proud of him know this is good for him and his futures but can't turn off the waterworks.small group of 15 having early Christmas for him God love his big sis for organizing this for the family.thanks for listening

hi Pam, he got hair cut / shaved grew back and he cut it again.. hard to get mad at him he is really getting into studying etc. but slacking off with doing chores>>>>> guess he'll learn different soon enough, we have about 32 days..and counting..friends are rally round with parties and get together.. my cousin is throwing open house for her dad's 90th birthday in 11 days so he'll see loots of family he might not have otherwise.. All in God's time... trying to keep strong.. at times its hard.. thanks for being there for me

I KNOW...prayers started for div 359 early this morn already...I am so excited to see out new sailor friday...and I have already packed one suitcase full of coats, gloves, hats, etc..lol..and just as much kleenex I believe lol I know I will need it. the pics they post on RTC of the graduation ceremony looks so emotional...GOOD LUCK to your son also!

we have been so busy packing up our suitcases to head out in a few days. I am so excited its ridiculous..lol
and yes I am short. too short for that matter. all my brothers (3) of them are all 6'3" and over. myself 5'4" lol i dont know what happened there. but i do believe dustin inherited that trait. he is already 6'1 and only 19...he is gonna be a long tall linky one for sure...

HI Pam, I'm new here so bear with me please.. yes we're close neighbors, lockport/new lenox. my son will be leaving for boot camp on December 14th. very proud of him and emotions are swaying up and down for me already. looking forward to being friends.
