Hi, the group, Naval Aviation, has more loved ones of Officers than enlisted. Just a heads up. You will find more info that is related to your situation in the groups within 800 and 900 Divisions. You also still have some changes within OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) to make as well as changing "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

Hi Sofora - PIR is 10/4/13!   When did your SR arrive at boot camp?

My son arrived 8/9 (at around midnight), got the kid in the box on Tuesday, 8/13 and the letter on 8/16.  I'm in Northern Nevada (near Tahoe) and the postmark on the letter was 8/14.  I see you are in California - I hope you get the letter today!

Are you on facebook?  There is a PIR 10-04-13 group on there you should join.

I am so glad to find someone in the same division!  Everyone else I've seen post are different ships or divisions!

How did you get your SR's ship/div without a letter?  What is their rate?

My SR is CTI, so he will ship out to Monterey, CA the next day.  Nice for us, because we are about a 4 hour drive from there.  :)

Sofora, since my daughter is older, 25, and she'd been on her own since going to college, it's quite different for me. I watched all the videos on Utube over and over to get a feel, and I feel pretty good about it and know she is doing well.

I am surprised I feel so good about her decision and proud of her.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones); I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Besure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) beginning with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile); you may want to make changes 3 and 4. Since you have an SR at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted." Since your SR is a candidate for Aviation Rescue Swimmer or AIRR, a special ops rating, the Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will have some important information for you.  Your new Sailor will fly out to “A” School in Pensacola after BC. You may also want to join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend once you get the form letter. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
