OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

A little about me:
My oldest son left on August 17, 2011 for GL for BC. I'm excited, nervous, sad, scared, happy and proud all at the same time. I know this is the best decision Steve has made. He will turn 21 while at BC. After PIR he will be going to San Antonia for A School.
I am here to support my
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Well so far the best experience I have had is this website. I can't even imgaine where I would be right now if it weren't for the other moms here offering advice and experiences, etc. Thank you
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Definately a start.  Same with me.  I cried when I realized I missed the call and then it dawned on me that I did not delete the message and could keep it. LOL One of those emotional brain moments.

Im glad for you.  I still havent gotten a call but you are right no news is good news.  Another mom told me she got a call at 4:00 am this morning.  She said they forgot to let them call home.  Her son took the oath with my son.  Hope all is well
