A little about me:
I'm a Navy mom and my son has been in the Navy for 8 years now. I'm a nurse and Work at St. John's (known now as Mercy Health Care). I've been a nurse for 19 years and have worked here for the last 5 years. I love gardening, crafts and baking. You name it hiking, traveling and keeping in touch with my son.

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?

When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
How important it is to be supportive not just to your own sailor, but to all you come in contact with. I mean all branches of service. Encouragement and support means all the difference when your out deployed or on missions. It amazes me how they (all personnel) are so appreciative of any little thing that is done for them when so many individuals in this world expect things and just want more, but not our US millitary forces they just give and give of themselves and there families give as well and our thrilled with a card or a thank you. Makes me very proud to be an American especially an American US Navy mom.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) to change "Anyone" to "Members" so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web. Don’t forget to click the “Save” button at the bottom.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Where is your Sailor stationed (what vessel, if one) and what is his rating (job)? There may be groups I can direct you to.

Tammy, Yes, Molly meant me. When she said go to the website, she meant that you can reach me at newmoms@mollysadoptasailor.com. Do you have a date for packing boxes? Send a request for the paperwork to dberland@mollysadoptasailor.com. (instructions come with them). Then after you pack the boxes and know the number, scan and email the forms back to Diane. She will print the postage and email it to you. Just print it out and put it one the boxes. Do you need help with customs forms? When "Molly's" pays the postage the return address has to be Molly. I'm going to send you a friend request so I can give you my phone number and you can call with any questions. Pat

Tammy, Truly it was my pleasure to be of help! This project is so near and dear to my heart!! You know, we should plan a "regional" packing party. Since the bad weather is getting close, maybe in the spring. How close are you to St. Louis?? Carol lives near there and she is one fabulous mama!!!! I'm sure I could get Lauren, Kimmy P, and Sally to come with me. I'm going to mark that in my calendar to plan in early spring! Fabulous idea! Pat

Hi, There are 2 ways to get to "MAS We Ship Love." First, on Molly's Adopt A Sailor page, look just below the "Information" and you will see "Click here for Sailor's Address." Or you can go to "Groups" at the top of the page, then go to page 3 and you will see it there. (Make sure you are signed in first) Let me know if you have any problems. Have a good weekend! Pat

Hi Tammy, Welcome to Molly's Adopt A Sailor!! For information on what we do and how we do it, go to Molly's Adopt A Sailor group page. On the right side of the page below the member pictures, click on "New Moms Read First". If you have questions or need help to navigate around Navy for Moms, please do not hesitate to send me a message.

Our adoption for the month of July will be handled a little differently than normal. We have been granted permission to adopt our VERY FIRST SUBMARINE!!! We will be sending very specific and limited items. Also the shipping will be done through the Ombudsman.

Thanks for joining us. This project is so much fun and you will make friends with other fabulous moms. Now don't be shy, let me know if I can answer questions. Pat

Give us a looky-loo.  We are a fun bunch of volunteers who love our troops.

We are also in the midst of a Pepsi vote to earn a grant for our combat hospital in Afghanistan.  There's information on the page, on our facebook page (which I learned after joining this N4M site) and by testing.  Let me know if you want more information on that.

Hi and Welcome.

We are happy to have you on the Navy for Moms site.  You are invited to join either the Illinois or Missouri family page as listed below.  It is a great way to find families in your area and even help plan meet and greets. We also have some packing parties for our troops overseas getting together.

Looking forward to hearing from you in one of our groups!

PS.  Feel free to cruise my page and see if there are any other groups that interest you. One of my passions is supporting our deployed troops.  Check out http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject and see if it is a group you may like to join.
