Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."
Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link).
If your Username contains your last name, also make changes 1 and 2.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP Code to one that is not easily associated with you or your future Sailor.
Hi, when did or will your future Sailor ship to the RTC? If you know the ship date, go to the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. At the bottom are links for each of the months, join the one for the month that your future Sailor ships.
I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.
Hi, I see you have joined San Antonio MA's. Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor was an MA. The discussion, Break down week by week, within San Antonio MA's will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not very active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well).
The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.); it indicates 9 weeks, but "A" School is 7 weeks after classing up.
Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend.
Take care and blessings to you and yours.
Welcome to NAVYForMoms! Our members are looking forward to meeting you and answering your questions.
We ask that our members not use their last names in their Username, even if it differs from their Sailor's. Please go to “Settings” on the main page ASAP to create a Username, add a profile image and complete your Profile. For OPSEC reasons, do not post photos with names visible on uniforms. Please read our Community Guidelines and this Operations Security checklist, then head to About Us and Getting Started.
When you're ready, jump right in! Browse around the site and check out the groups and their Discussion Forums.
This site is a great opportunity for moms to learn and help their Sailors as they progress. You can search for and join groups for your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" school, duty station or homeport and ship; groups for moms in your state and/or home town; and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.
Be sure to introduce yourself when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions. We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor, and welcome to the NAVY family!
