OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

July '23 RTC Boot camp -> EOD pipeline

Hi All !My son told us in August '22 of his desire to join the Navy, with the ship out July '23 - this will be post college graduation. With ASVAB score and PSF, he was accepted to the EOD Training Pipeline. He will be the first in our families to serve in the military and we are so proud. Of course, nervous, anxious, excited...insert any emotion and I have probably felt it. I hear from other former service members that he should be going in as an officer once he earns his college degree. He…See More

dilyn1967 - Oh good, it looks like B'sNukeMom posted a link for the EOD group below. She is one of the admins on this site. I am one of the moms who sticks around and helps to welcome new members in the BC mom group and I am in several other groups as well.

Welcome Aboard. Please feel free to come to the BC Mom group page and scroll down to the Comment Wall section and say hello. That is the best place to post questions regarding BC, preparing for send off, asking what your Depper or SR (seaman recruit) needs to do. And just in general also share your daily emotional ups and downs if you need to.

By the time your son is heading to BC my son will have finished his enlistment, but I will likely still be hanging around some.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
