FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

When u write your son tell him my son's name is Peyton Long. What is your son's name & I will tell my son. :) I think my husband who is my son's stepdad is going to sit out at graduation. He was in the Navy for 20 years and is now retired. With my husband be retired, is how we get to stay @ the Navy lodge on base. I haven't heard anything about the tide pen. Do you happen to have a Facebook account? We can talk on there too!!!!

I'm so excited to know someone on here!! I mean I don't know you know you....but I feel like I do!! Lol We r leaving on the Wednesday before graduation and we r going to drive halfway and stop and then drive the rest of the way on Thursday. We are staying @ the Navy Lodge in Great Lakes. We have a slight problem though we have 5 people with us so one of us will have to sit out & wait for PIR :(

I think I remember u too!! Was ur son the first one that sat in the desk? I am waiting patiently for him to send me a letter. My name is Holly and I live in Pleasant Hill about an hour and a half from Shreveport.

Hi!! My son left from Shreveport on the 20th of June! Isn't that awesome, they're in the same division. I'm so excited to meet you on here. I've been wondering who else was from LA also. I've only received the box and form letter. So much good info on here. We def have to stay in touch!

that's awesome!!!!! i was so hoping to find someone on here that was also from Louisiana.  where did your son fly out from?  my son flew out from Shreveport.  i really hope that the two of them are friends. :)  have you received a letter yet from your son? i'm hoping to get one this week. please keep in touch with me and i really hope that i get to meet you @ graduation on August 20th!!
