nice pictures! glad you were able to attend PIR!
Beautiful family, goliathmacdog! ;)
Hey goliathmacdog! I'm super excited that there's a Nuke Mom from my neck of the woods. :)
I'm about an hour and a half west of Columbus... An hour north of Dayton. :)
If you ever have any questions, I'd be glad to answer! Aaron (my fiance) is an EM in Prototype (just finished his first week). I'm an open book, and I love to help others out. :)
Oh, and if you ever want to get together sometime, I'd be totally up for that, too! :)
Welcome to the crazy life of the Nuke world! :)
Wow-sorry you had to deal with your husband being sick. I'm glad he's ok now, though. The educational opportunities with the navy are great. My son wasn't interested in going to college right away and always knew he wanted to be in the service. After he enlisted he started looking into the college money available and I think he's going to go ahead and start doing a few classes at a time while he's serving.
B's recruiter tried to get him to go into the Nuke program but he was hesitant. Math is not his strong suit so he looked at the other options they gave him. He scored very well on the test and was offered a position in Cryptology. He's going as a CTN, which is in computer networking. He's very excited about it all.
I hope you hear more from your son soon! I'm thinking I should wait outside for the mailman tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to more info. :0)
It's great to see someone close to home! He did leave from Columbus-on 3-2. He was the only one from the Navy that day. B just turned 19 a few months ago, so yep, they're the same age. He's in 3/149. From what I've read there are around 80 per division??? I've been careful to not use my son's name after being advised not to on my page or in the forums. So far B is enjoying (as much as that's possible) BC but it sounds like they have a few not quite with the program. Your son is in the performing division? Is he musical? He'll get to perform for several PIR's, right? That's really neat. We'll have to keep in contact during training. What rating is your son?
