Hi Jax! Glad to hear your sailor likes SA. Will he still be here for our hot, humid summer? Mine has never been away from home on his own and has never seen snow fall. He may be enjoying the novelty. I had to miss PIR :( But my husband and I are planning to visit GL in a month or two :)
Hi Jax! My name is Donna and I live in Plainville. Not sure how far away we are from each other, but it would be wonderful to have someone to talk with. My son is an MA. He is in the Reserves & his civilian job is with the NYPD. He has been deployed twice now and there have been rumors of another one coming up! I hope not, they always come at the worst times. Example: he was married in May, activated in July and shipped out in September (deployment #1). Then they had a baby girl in March, he was activated in April and shipped out in May. First time he left his bride, second time he left her alone with an infant!! She's saying no 2nd baby until he's been home to enjoy their daughter. Smart girl.

Hi Jax. Are you counting the days yet? I'm almost counting the hours! :) They should have had pictures taken this past Friday. He called Feb 1 and told us that was 3-4 day. So the 8th should have been 4-4 day. Last week, from what I hear, is the hardest week, outside of Battlestations. I'm sending a link to a page that breaks Boot Camp down, week by week, up to Week 6. Today should be 5-1 day, if my calculations are right.
That is great you got a call. I thought it was a little late for calls, just hoping everything was good. Only 4 weeks to go.
Hi Jax..... my sailor has said that the food in boot was quite tasty... except for the eggs hahaha they wrecked havoc on his bowels to put it nicely HAHAHHAHAHA i don't remember is he tried veal.. 4 WEEKS TO GO!!
Hi. His rate is likely Master-At-Arms, abbreviated to MA. After being next to Lake Michigan for Boot Camp, he'll like the Texas weather! Our boy is going to be an Information Systems Technician ( IT ), and he'll be going to Pensacola, Florida for A-School. Wish WE could spend a few months there, too!
hey, everyone booked my flight/hotel accomadations and yep crying again. I realy am coocoo lately. anyway, flying southwest feb 28th-march 4th, and stating at The Resident Inn by Marriott-Waukegan. counting down the days.
