Sometime this site does weird things with emails, just send me an email from your personal email account (not Navy for Moms) and I will get back to you that way. My email address is: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com

I sent this to your email on N4M's as well.

Thanks again, Lora

That is awesome, I know you must be so proud of her :-) I am so sorry to hear about your step-mom. I will keep you and your family in my prayers, Lora

That is awesome Becky, any recruits who have band experience have it so much easier simply because they don't have to learn to march lol. And it is just an added bonus that you will probably get to see and hear her preform. Make sure she orders the video with her pictures. And you may even get a chance to see her in a picture or 2 before her PIR because they preform for one or two PIR's before their own :-)

Hi Becky, my Sailor was also in the 900's DIV. She was in the choir and I can tell you it was AMAZING to hear her voice over the speakers at PIR. That is a moment I will never ever forget. I look forward to hearing all about your sailor and to making your ribbons. Lora

jbsgirl,

You need to talk to us on the group page!!  There are several moms who are still pretty new and they can certainly talk to you about getting through those first weeks of bootcamp.  I had such a hard time when my girl left 3 years ago and I thought I was so crazy since I had done that myself years before!!!  It's different when it's our girl!!!!!  I know for me it helped to talk to other moms who really do understand!!!  Just to let you know you are not alone!!!  You should also check out a group called Moms Who Served.  They don't talk alot but the group is made up of moms who are also veterans!!

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you!!!  Sending NavyMom hugs your way - - {{{ . . }}}

jbsgirl1417,

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!  I see your daughter is in boot camp now - I have a son and a daughter serving and another daughter was accepted in the Navy's officer program - BDCP. She has one last year of school before reporting to OCS.  My husband and I are also both Navy vets.  I thought it was so cool when I left home for the Navy but it still was so hard for me when my little girl left.  I am so proud of all my sailors but I still miss them!!   Please feel free to jump in and join our chats.  We are a close, caring, friendly group of moms who are always available for help and support.  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor.  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!!
