A little about me:
Hello,

I am a mother of 3; 2 girls and a boy. My youngest daughter has made the decision to join the Navy. While am nervous and scared, I am very excited for her opportunity. I am still trying to get use to the idea of her being away and taking on such great responsibility but I am so very proud of her.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Thinking about joining
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid

Hey there...how are you doing?  How is your daughter doing?  I want to be excited about the graduation but I am still up in the air to whether my Sailor has passed the PRONE FLOAT requirement...I did speak with her last Saturday and she sounded ok but she was still struggling with that requirement and she cannot graduate until she passes it...I got a letter this week but no change...so I have been staying offline because I feel like I am in limbo...I am not going to canx my plans I will stay go up and see if I can at least spend time with her...unfortunately I did not get the more costly tickets that leaves the option open to change the flight arrangements so I am just trusting the process at this point....I hope that things are better for your daughter....I think I have aged by 5 years because of this experience....

Don't have that date yet, but it should be at the beginning of PIR week.  Please message me the date if you hear from your SR.

Hey there...I staying online a little longer hoping you could respond...

My daughter is in Ship 12/Div 370.....she is the EPO and love that job too...I am not sure how the division interact....Not passing the floating is getting to my daughter the most....she was concern about this before hand because she does not have much bodyfat, which would come in handy right now because that helps with floating....so it may be a mind over matter thing...she keeps talking about them getting "beat" I do not  understand that part of the letter and it actually hurts too...that concerned me because I am not sure I recall this part of bootcamp..I went through over 30 years ago and I know bootcamp was tougher then than now but I do not recall "beatings"...I not if that is a term they call it or it is actually beatings...

This the first letter that she expressed any homesickness with me so I was caught off guard...I know she has not been able to call home and she explained why...and that is what is causing her homesickness...

How old is your daughter/Sailor?  Mine is "23" ....

Well, I really do have to go now but I will hopefully chat with you later ... and will be praying for your daughter.....please do the same!

Hello there...I need a friend right  now...your timing is awesome!  I was so excited to see the THICK letter and the more I read the more I wanted to CRY!!! She is being very honest with her emotions (as girls often are...) and she is just being real and it is hard to read this time...most of her letters have been just the opposite so I was glad that she was open and honest...the PRONE floating part is killing her morale and belief in her abilties....What is your Sailor struggling with in addition to homesickness...I may not answer right away because I am leaving to go to a meeting but please know I really appreciate the connection...I hope to see you on 11/10/11....God is Good!!!!
