Hi kanuckone, we've gotten 3 short calls. Last one on the 17th, and 6 letters but the first 5 were when they finally got to mail out letters, only one since then. He seems to be doing fine, but I can't help but wonder about their division since they haven't received a full hr. call yet. He is mail po and seems to like it. He says letters from home seems to be what keeps everyone going.

I see you have joined Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola; you may also want to join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, What is your SR's rating
(job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ohe ratings with "A" School in Pensacola.

The "ships" at the RTC are buildings (barracks) that are named after actual ships that are or were in the fleet. The Page, Ship/Division--How it Works, will help.

Hello Kanuckone! Thank-you so much for adding me! I am glad to hear someone else's recruit is on ship 12, DIV 397 and hasn't received calls /letters. Not that I am happy we haven't, but rather that this is the normal for others too :)y a

HI there, thanks for friending me.  Our son also left on the 20th from Albany NY.  His PIR date is 10/18.  Received the box and call on the 20th at 10:10pm, then the form letter.  Anxiously awaiting a letter I guess -- hoping to hear anything :)

I am not sure how many sailors are in one ship but it seems likely that they would know each other.  My son's name is Carl. My name is Jen and my husband's name is also Carl.  We are going to start looking into flights etc. soon.  I guess the key is to get tickets that are either refundable or you are able to change the date just in case the boys PIR is postponed.

Hi, Sorry I thought I responded earlier today.  This all seems so deranged.  My son in law will be moving to Tennesee with my grandson right after Labor day, so I am sure the mail is going there already. I am feeling somewhat helpless at the moment.  While watching the videos I am so thankful she had swimming lessons,  I am concerned about the pushups and running.  This is the first time she truly has to rely on herself.
