Some RDC do not allow the SR's to call home until their into their 3rd week. And when you think about how often they get Holiday time to write, it is normally on Sundays. You will get your letter! Keep your chin up! Think positive. My son has been gone 3 weeks today and I have had only 1 3min 24 sec call and now 2 letters. Doesn't compare to the 11 or so I have sent him. LOL But we keep hanging in there and stalking the mailman!!!

My son flies out Wed. also, if weather cooperates they should get there around the same time. His original goal was to be a MA, (one of his older brothers is a CT State Trooper) but he had some issues with the depth perception test at MEPS (which I hear is common) . . . they offered him OS. He was able to get our local eye doctor (an ex-NAVY physician) to clear him but he decided to stay with OS. It would be nice if they're in the same ship/division. Hang in there!

Hi, I am in Crestview, FL (northwest panhandle). Do you know if they are standing-down for the holidays and if so, would my son still leave on 12/15/2010, or would they wait until after the first of the year? Thanks so much for being here for other parents!
