OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

I am glad to see more family for ship 02 div 916.  I have set everything up and am staying at the Ramada Inn.  It was on the flyer that they put in with the form letter.  Is there a better place for the same cost?  I chose that one because of the indoor pool for my daughter and the reception the night before PIR.  Nice to meet you.

Hi I just received the form letter for my step-son and he is also on ship 02 div 916. I am so excited and relieved to finally have an address for him. Can't wait to send him letters from home and get to know anyone else who is going through all the same things I am.
