Who woulda thought I CAN survive weeks without my best friend/man I love. We have never spent more than a week apart..and even then we were in constant contact. No doubt this has been hard on both us, I cried for a week straight after he left. But, here I am, halfway there and SO proud of him! He got to call today, so that's probably why I'm blogging right now (excitement!). I can not wait to be married to my best friend. He… Continue

nervously waiting

My other half leaves next Sunday for boot camp in Great Lakes. I'm nervous about how hard the 2 months will be, but we've been waiting on his departure date for about a year now, so I'm also excited about our future together after boot camp (we plan to get married shortly after boot camp). I know I will miss him, but I have faith in myself that i can hold it together for 2 months and just stay busy!!

Well my SR said that those who are going out of IL for school will more than likely leave Friday morning. He will probably go to SC, at least I hope he does haha. Yeah when he called me he got real emotional and what not. I agree, I can not wait until 9/1! I was told that they all talk about their loved ones too; mainly about their futures together :)

Haha! Too funny, yeah my SR called me and we talked for about 30 minutes because he wanted to call his parents too. He told me he knows your SR lol and they talk and what not. I can't believe they only have one month left... I hope time flies because he also told me that we only get to spend graduation day (September 1st) together and then he flies out to his "A" school Friday morning which sucks.

Do you know where he is going for school or when he leaves?

See, I have heard a lot of stories about that. It kinda sucks that recruiters make it difficult for couples but I can somewhat understand... Ooh, small wedding at a beach would be gorgeous! We have discussed marriage and what not but are going through an issuing due to the fact that he's a Nuke. He'll be in school for two years straight and won't have a lot of time to do a wedding/honeymoon. He wants to go to a court and legally get married and then after school have a wedding, but that will be our plan B haha. We're still not sure what we want to do and hopefully we can have a timeline or something to help us decide

I agree, a letter would be heavenly right now! I don't even mind if it is just a little piece of paper that say his name on it... just knowing that he's ok and what not is what's been on my mind.

Wow that's awesome, my SR and I have been together for about a year but have known each other since high school. So what are your guys plans for when he gets out of boot? I read on your blog that you guys are planning on getting married later, congrats for that! I was always a sucker for love stories haha

I know right, I was beginning to think my SR was on a ship by himself haha. I'm dealing with it fairly well. The first week was pretty bad I’m not gonna lie… the two of us had been together night and day so the initial shock of him being gone was hard. Luckily I’m staying busy and writing him whenever I get a chance. I’m hoping that we get letters back soon though! Majority of the members here have said around week three is when we should expect to get letters so I hope they’re right!

Hi there!

I noticed that your SR is in the same Div as mine; 07/289. Thought I'd friend you and say hello :)
