I Got A Do-Over!!!!!

My son left on Teusday only to return on Thursday, MEPS had lost his medical clearance paper.  I did not have any contact with him over this time and I had no idea what was happening.  When he walked in the door my heart sank, I thought the worst.  We got a copy of the med clearance and he is good to go.  He will know leave on Sunday the 22nd.  I think the hardest part will be saying goodbye AGAIN.  But the best part is my husband will be there for the dreaded drop-off.  I actually think I…

Day 1 of Son being gone

Thankfully yesterday my son had his cell phone and was able to keep me updated from the time he left MEPS, to when he arrived at the airport. He was able to give me his flight number and times of departure. He even texted me when he landed. I was very happy to know he landed safely. Then around 1 am central time I received a phone call from him, telling me had arrived and I would receive his personnel items in about 2 weeks along with his mailing address. Even though the phone call was just…

JUST TO HEAR HIS VOICE..

Today I called my son's cell phone knowing he would not answer but was hoping to hear his recorded message. UGH all I got was that pre-recorded message that everyone has on their phone if they don't record their own... I was so disappointed. Will make sure when he does get his phone back that he records a message just for mom. I miss him lots Have to wait till 6-15-12 to see him.

51 days since leaving for Boot Camp

I can't believe how quickly boot camp has flown by... my SR may not say the same... this site was very helpful especially in the beginning when I felt like I was swimming at night in a dark pond... the boot camp videos, explanation of "the box" and the support on the PIR date so we could plan ahead was all very helpful... the dreaded "box" actually became exciting thanks to this site... I've met some great moms and dads on this site... I even met a Navy Mom on Facebook whose son had recently…

Son just left for Boot Camp

My son left today for boot camp and I have been an emotional wreck. He actually was suppose to leave yesterday but could not leave until today because of a glitch. He got a speeding ticket last month and his recruiter is on leave since he wife just had a baby. Another recruiter was filling in and he did not get back to MEPS in time today with the receipt showing my son's ticket has been paid. So today I had to go through the emotional roller coaster all over again. Needless to say I was not…

Sighhh... I want a letter....

I was going out of town today and had to put my plans on hold because I got the stomach flu. This is nuts. I have been so stressed out it is not a wonder.

I left from teaching my quilt class yesterday feeling a little achy but by the middle of the night I was not a happy camper.

My mother-n-law called this morning wanting to know if I was close... I said the closest I am to anything other than the bed is the bathroom.... Sorry babe... but not…

I think thats the hardest part, not talking to her!!  She said she is sending her things and an address in the "Box" . So I guess ill wait by the mail !!! I am so proud of her doing what she wants to with letting no one influence her. But as a mother this is one of the hardest things by far !!!

I guess I have to wait for her address so I can…

Counting down the days....

Daniel flies out to the Great Lakes on April 30th, but he has to report on the 29th! The days are flying by..it seems like yesterday that he swore in. We had a BBQ for him on Saturday and had a huge turn out. It was nice to see so many of his friends and family there who support him. I bought a spiral sketch book for any one who wanted to write well wishes and it turned out to be a great idea. I can tell he's anxious now about leaving...and though I want to spend every moment I have left…
