Yay!! Finally received our first letter from our daughter today! She is in high spirits and her letter had a great sense of humor :) It's been a long two weeks of not knowing anything about my daughter.....Receiving her letter today and knowing she is doing okay feels like a whole ton of weight just lifted off my shoulders and I'm on top of the world! Thank you Jesus!

Time play tricks on us. In some respects the time is flying by... and in others ways it is dragging. Checking the mailbox each evening has become a special ritual. I take a deep breath... say a short prayer... take the mail out of the box... then unhook it from the side of the house so I can peer inside to make sure I didn't miss my letter.
I got spoiled last week... two letters on Friday and two more on Saturday... none since. Hoping tomorrow I'll get at least…

When will we know for sure if our SR is actually graduating on that date? My son 's letters seem to leave me asking more questions than answers. The last one said he had to stay behind to clean rather than going shooting. He also said he wasn't in the picture of his diveion marching but didn't say why?

I should have said in my original post, his A school is there at Great Lakes so he will not be getting on a plane. I assume he will just move out of one place and into another. His PIR is July 15. I have seen other groups to join on other dates but not this one.

i was wondering if there are any great steak/seafood places near the base - without having to go into Chicago - we don't know the area and would probably get lost - i just want to relax with our boy and let him chill on his cell phone for awhile before Liberty is over for the evening...thanks in advance & Southern Blessings, Cindy
