Moving to an apartment after living in military housing?? BAH questions

Since hubby has to report to his first Duty station soon we won't have enough time to save up money for a deposit to live in apartment so we decided to live in military housing. After I lease is up how do we stop the bah from going to the military housing and come back in hubby's check for when we move? Or does it stop automatically once we move out of the military housing?

How I managed my daughters ship date

I don't know if this is of help to anyone but this is my take on my daughter leaving for boot camp.

She had a rough year her Senior year of school.  So when she told us after she turned 18 she enlisted in the Navy we were shocked and devastated.  She and I are very close and I know she was thinking about it but did not realize how determined she was.   I could not imagine not seeing her every day, in her room or hearing the jingle of her car keys when she came home from Tae Kwon Do. I…

I feel like I am complaining constantly

Yesterday was my birthday. I missed my boy so much it was the first time since he was born we spent a birthday apart. I did not feel to wake up but I did and I did try my best to hold it together I kept crying everytime I was alone which really did not help the mood of my dinner party. Everyone kept saying how lucky I was to have great sons and I must be so happy that he is out of the house. Don’t people understand that I did everything for my sons and do they not understand that my boys are… Continue

Bootcamp Blues

My son just left for basic a week ago yesterday, and I know I am just beginning this long journey, but I am missing him terribly and am a teary eyed mess! Is this normal? Or am I just a big marshmallow puff of emotions? Oh i hope it isn't the big "change"! Lol

Good morning everyone.

So excited to have received our first letter.  She requested her makeup and acne pads.   Is this really okay to send so soon?  It is only her 3rd week?

A bit confused

Good afternoon,

My daughter graduates November 9th.  We are arriving on November 8th.  We plan on driving to the graduation ceremony.  I'm not sure how to get my driving pass.  Do I get the driving pass first, then the ticket?  Any insight would be most helpful.

Losing it

Our sailor came home for transfer leave. This is his first time home in about 11 months. First time since leaving for boot camp. I have loved having him home. But it has been a little rough but in all it has been wonderful. Just having him here and seeing his face everyday has been fantastic. But... this mom is starting to lose it. He leaves soon to go to his next duty station and then when his ship arrives he will be going out on it. So I’m starting to get quite sad. It’s hard to think that… Continue

Anyone's child go AWOL?

My daughter went to boot camp and A school and was in Reserves, signed for 8 years (4 years ago). We noticed she had not been coming around in her BDU's for a while and questioned if she was still in and she told us it just wasn't for her and she just stopped going. She was not aware what AWOL meant, as my husband had to tell her what it stood for.

Last year she flew to Bahrain to see her ex-bf at a base over there and she made it home with no issues so I had to assume that she's in…
