HELP- Please

Decesions, decesions,

my boyfriend left on the 10th of July, we've recieved his box and hopefully will recieve his form letter soon. So, here is my question. I know that they may only have four people written down on their list to go. His sister was recently married so it will be her, her husband and his parents. I read that you can go to the visitor center before hand and if there is room at their graduation, they will let you in. Do you think it will be worth it to go and…

Does anyone have a recruit in Ship 04 Div 818

If so, has anyone received any letters yet?  I keep reading that it could be a full three weeks before they're allowed to write.  Also since he's in the 800th division, I understand he'll stay there for 3 more weeks after bootcamp.  If so, how does liberty work for the weekend of graduation.  Could we see him more than just the day of graduation?

Two Weeks Down Already

It was two weeks ago yesterday morning at 2:31 a.m. that I got my "I'm here call" from my son. My heart broke as I heard the scaredness, the tiredness, and the hurriedness in his voice. He and I had talked a lot over the past few weeks and we both knew what those first 48 hours were going to be like for him. Neither of us were looking forward to it.

It was one week ago this past Monday that the "kid in the box without the kid" arrived on my front porch, positioned perfectly in the…

Mom's prayer for her son ...

I Give To You, My Son-

I held him as an infant; I hugged him as a boy

and through the years he has become my greatest pride and joy.

I love him more than I can say,

his life more precious than my own,

but gone are the whims and notions of the little boy that I had known.

For the years have passed so quickly since the time it all began

and now he stands before me with the conviction of a man.

He wants to serve his country, he… Continue

Isaiah 42:16

My best friend, John, left for boot camp on July 2, 2012. He joined on September 29, 2011, but since he was still in high school, he was in DEP up until his ship date. When John told my boyfriend, who he lived with, and I about joining the Navy we had very different opinions on his choice. Throughout the next 10 months, however, we all learned so much about dependence, support, and hope. It has now been two weeks since John has been in boot camp. It feels like he's been gone for ages and…

Confused about process

Hello,

I am new to this site and have been trying to inform myself about all of this. This site has helped to fill in many holes, THANK YOU for such a great site!!! However, my daughter called me today and we are both VERY didappointed in the the process for the Navy.

She is 21 years old. After many hours of researching online and with others that were in the Navy, she decided that she really wanted to make the commitment to enlist in the Navy. Her father and I are so proud of…

Thanks to all the "veterans" on here

I can't tell you all enough how many times you have "talked me off the ledge". I know NOTHING about Navy life (my husband's family all retired Air Force) and have no clue what to expect,  Although my father served in the Navy, it was during WWII and things are different than they were 70 years ago.  I know my inner "mother lion" has reared her head a few times wanting to go charging to Great Lakes to protect my cub, but it's time to let go and let him grow to be the man he needs to be. I…
