So now it's my Son's time to start the enlistment process, and to be honest, I'm scared. I've been through the I didn't pass my PFA, to Fit, and then she got hurt went to RCU, her cousin and BFF dies of Ovarian Cancer, and was Sepped. I'm really nervous, and hiding the fact that I'm really…

I recently started dating a submariner (further more to be referred to as Hercules) on the USS Alabama and he truly is the most wonderful man I have ever known...right after my father of course. I've never been seriously involved with a man in the Navy before and its all so new and shiny...and confusing!
He tries so hard to keep me updated on whats going on and explain things to me but it all gets lost in translation. Not to mention its barely been a couple of months and…

Good Morning ladies,
Can someone clear up my confusion over challenge coins.
I have read that they are awarded by a unit leader. I see a lot of parents getting the coins for there SR for boot camp.
Should that be correct?
I would really like to know a correct official clarification.
Thanks

Our son left Monday July 27th and arrived at Great Lakes Tuesday the 28th. He called that night to say he arrived safely. That Thursday we received his clothes he wore there. Now we are anxiously waiting for that first letter. Do not know what division he is in or ship. I check the mail everyday waiting for that first letter. My 9 year old daughter wrote him a letter last week and wanting to ssend it. …

On every site related to our recruits, I see post after post of parents who are so sad about their child being in boot camp. I'm very close to my son but I'm beginning to feel abnormal.
