I've passed (sort of) missing him, now I worry...

I specifically joined this group on a day that I had a breakdown. My son is deployed but not for too long, but longer than ever before. There are so many negative shipmates that are in his ear. Although I keep reminding him how many plans he had in the Navy, how many dreams for his future he had, he over rules me with his own negativity. I'm worried. I encourage him and send scriptures and try to inspire him. I remind him to stay clear of negative people an he agrees. He is bigger than this,…

July 3rd Graduation

Hi all Division 211 moms. Our sailors are in week four. Sounds like they are getting some gun action. We have not had any letters home yet so we RE going by the outline our son sent home. Our son Michael has called home twice, both times sounded a bit homesick. Bootcamp sounds so hard and we are hopeful we will make it to graduation. Anyone else hearing this from our sailors? Right now all we can do is encourage. Ideas?

TO THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE ME- WHERE TO STAY?

I have been looking at the site and the comments for motels for graduation in July.  One of them said the location was a bit scary- I don't want to spend a fortune and since I will have my youngest with me- I would like to have something with a pool- I would like to be closer to the base.  Anyone have suggestions- where to stay or where not to stay!  Thank you!

Any Dental Assistance? San Antonio anyone? What will her school be like?

My daughter is going to finish boot camp May 30th.  I am so excited that I can see her in just a few more days and I'm also very sad to think it will only be for a few hours.  Then she'll be off to San Antonio the next day. I haven't heard from her for a month. I really thought they might let her get a phone call out on Mother's Day but nope.  I know they are suppose to let her call before PIR to make sure of who will be coming but I also heard from her that her group can make a phone call…

counting the Fridays

My son left a week ago tomorrow. I got home today and there was a note from Fed Ex... I missed the box. I cried to the Fed Ex guy that I talked to when he said the truck was out of the area and wouldn't be back until late tonight. I miss him so much. I know this is the best choice for him but I am really hating this. I hear it gets easier... 7 Fridays left.

"Got my call"

I received my call from my daughter and I was so excited to hear from her. She sounded so good and amazed at the things she has accomplished so far. I'm so proud of her. I can hardly wait for PIR 06/27. Go NAVY!!
