Chris& Justin's mom's Blog – July 2011 Archive (4)

Call from my son

I was so happy to finally hear from him. He called on Wednesday, and I'm surprised that I didn't even cry. I guess it's because I knew that he is alive. He asked for me to send him some information so we got to talk about 5-7 minutes. I just sent him some letters, we had been writing, on Thursday. When do you think he'd receive them? I also added a phone card & some pics of me & his lil brother.

Day 4

Well myself, my sister, our parents & my husband spent some time with my son's fiancee yesterday. She's such a sweetheart. I just hope everything is okay with her & her family. She had just told her dad last night about being engaged. I know this is gonna be real hard for her because her dad seems to think that mixed relationships don't/ shouldn't work. My dad was the same way when my sister & I were growing up. Our boyfriends couldn't be a different race. I thought (and still… Continue

Day 3

I miss him so much. I just hope these 2 months go by real fast. I spoke to my mom today, she said she was at the store the other day with my dad. The music started playing and he broke down and started crying. My son Chris would play his guitar in his bedroom every day, he taught himself to play and even started a guitar club at his high school.

I know this is gonna be really hard on everyone, but I sometimes feel as if he was ripped away from me. I shouldn't feel that way because…

My son Chris

I am very proud of him for serving. I just got sad the first couple days. It is getting easier little by little. My husband is afraid this will come between us, if I continue to get upset. My youngest son (Justin, he's 16) I know he's feeling right out lost, his big brother isn't here. They'd play games, Chris even taught Justin how to play the guitar. I don't know if I should approach Justin or if I should just let him come to me when he wants. Anyone have any pointers? Thank you
