FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Today's the day! ........

The tank is clean!!! ......... The tank is clean?!?

Okay, I know I'm lame.  After I typed the title "Today's the day!" the line from Finding Nemo popped into my head, so I went with it. :)

Going Away Party

Well, I guess there's no denying the fact that he is actually leaving anymore... We had his going away party this past weekend and it was AWESOME to see so many people that we know and love there supporting him full-heartedly in his future endeavors.

So now we can check "have going away party" off of our to-do list before he leaves, along with "get pictures taken" and "take care of financial matters". Now if only he would work on "lose weight", we'd be golden. I'm worried that he will…

June 26, 2009

I figured I would start my first blog post with how Andrew and I met. It's really not that interesting of a story, but it's OUR story. It was summer of 2009 and I was taking two classes at the local community college to make my next year at siue less stressful. On June 26, a mutual friend called me and invited me to a party at his house that night. I told him that I would not make it because I had 8am class the following morning.
