I figured I would start my first blog post with how Andrew and I met. It's really not that interesting of a story, but it's OUR story. It was summer of 2009 and I was taking two classes at the local community college to make my next year at siue less stressful. On June 26, a mutual friend called me and invited me to a party at his house that night. I told him that I would not make it because I had 8am class the following morning. Honestly, it was only 8pm and I was already in my pajamas getting ready to call it a day! Haha. He called me back and said I needed to bring friends because he didn't want it to be lame - I guess you could say that I fell to the peer pressure because 20 minutes later I was at the party (in my pajamas and all!), friends in tow. When I walked in, I immediately noticed a cute guy whom I had never met before. After hanging out with everyone for awhile, I went outside and this new guy was there also. We started talking and before long, he asked for my number; I gave it to him, never expecting to hear from him again.

The following day, he sent me a text and asked me to hang out with him that night. I had something else to do, so I couldn't. However, I asked him if he was going to a certain party the following night and he ended up meeting me there! From that day forward, we talked every single day. Our first date was a double date with his cousin and his girlfriend to see the Transformers movie and we became an official couple on July 5th, following fireworks in town.

I cannot imagine my life without Andrew, and I cannot imagine these past 2 years without him. He has been my rock when I was weak, my comedian when I was sad and my best friend at all times. When he brought up the idea of joining the Navy, I was scared ... so scared. However, we talked about it more and more and decided that it would be an awesome opportunity for him, since school never really worked out. I hate that he's just now joining at the age of 23, most guys at his age are already done with their 6year contract! We're just going to take everything day by day and be completely open with each other about what we are feeling. I cannot believe that he leaves for bootcamp in 15 days. It will be an extremely long 9 weeks; hopefully in the end, it will make our relationship that much stronger.
