I don't think I have stopped smiling since Saturday 5:24cst. Our son was able to call us and we spoke for 32 minutes. We were super stoked and I will say I definitely believe in Mother's Intuition because all day I kept telling my husband "he's going to call us today"! We were getting ready to head to a graduation party and I sat on my bed and said, "come on phone freaking ring from IL". About 20 minutes later BOOM it was him calling. It was so refreshing to hear his voice. For minute…

Since receiving the form letter we've been researching for flights and the best prices. Well, after reviewing all our options for flights we just decided to drive from TX to Chicago. The flights for us are outrageous for my husband, myself and two teens. I searched all airlines and options and there's no way we can afford to fly out all four of us roundtrip. I already booked a room at the Navy Lodge, so we were lucky to get that reserved and in all we're excited that we will be there to…

I'm super excited!!! I just checked my informed postal delivery email and we have a letter arriving from our son. I'm thinking it has to be the FORM Ltr. I can't wait to get home and great my post lady!!
So, the box arrived Monday. We were excited and sad at same time. I don't know about anyone else, but I just think its weird to have the items come in that box. I cried when I smelled his shirt. Gosh I miss that boy! I have letters written already, but now we're just waiting for the address.
Yesterday should've been in P5 day. I pray he did well on his running test. Like they say "no news is good news" and I'm sticking with that. Its 103 here in my place of TX and I'm glad…

We dropped him off at the hotel and were able to have dinner with him. I could tell he was anxious and we said our "see ya laters and cried and hugged tight". He text me later that evening that his roommate at the hotel was nice and that they watched the game.
Next day, his dad and I headed to MEPS. I suggest getting their early like we did because their system went down and we had to wait. Then we got the okay to go ahead to the MEPS building. When he arrived I immediately saw…

Today is the day, we drop him off at the hotel. I’m going to try hard to contain myself & tomorrow we’ll see him do his final swear in and the Friday countdown begins. #navyboy #boymeetsworld
We're one week away from our son to leave for BT. Thus far I'm still crying daily in anticipation of him leaving. This week is his last week of work at his job. That's going to be a hard one for him because he loves his job and the people he works with. He's been hanging out with his friends, not sure when they're going to say there good byes. Two of his friends now are wanting to join, and they need to, but they haven't done it yet. He's been meeting with his recruiter and I'm hoping…

My son leaves for BT on the 29th of this month. We're super proud of his decision, but of course as a parent I worry. I'm calm at times, but then it hits me during the day and I randomly cry that its getting closer in the days coming that he will be leaving. I know its not going to be forever, but we've never been apart. His three brothers and his dad are putting on a brave face for now, but I know when the 29th roles around they're going to loose it. In all, we know he's going to do…
