I have been reading so much and about PIR day. Many are saying they are bringing their sons/daughters cell phones to them, laptops etal...and some recruits are allowed to take them and some no... where is the best place to stay; most convenient; I have a 76 year old grandpaw with me..I am renting a car...also where to go after PIR..some are saying the time is crunched..any suggestions; what are others doing? I am a single mom, with his grandfather and little brother coming for my sons PIR and pretty lost...any directions and suggestions is greatly appreciated! Also, I am told I may be able to see him on Saturday...if that is the case then I want to change my flight....I was flying in on Thur and out on Sat...suggestions very helpful; Where to stay?
What to bring for him? Cell phone, computer etal
Where to eat?
Things to do?
Should I reschedule my flight for Sunday, as a just in case?
Thank you!
What is his rate? Job? If you know that, then we can tell you if his A school is in Great Lakes or not. If it is in Great Lakes, he can have his things when he checks into his school on Friday afternoon.
If you are going to take his things to the airport, depending on his flight time he may be hanging around for awhile. We met our son at the USO center at the airport. They are absolutely wonderful there, very accomodating to the sailors and their families. My son got to the airport at 7:00 AM and wasn't flying out until the afternoon. We brought him his phone and laptop and were thrilled when he called us after arriving in SC.
