Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I have been reading so much and about PIR day. Many are saying they are bringing their sons/daughters cell phones to them, laptops etal...and some recruits are allowed to take them and some no... where is the best place to stay; most convenient; I have a 76 year old grandpaw with me..I am renting a car...also where to go after PIR..some are saying the time is crunched..any suggestions; what are others doing? I am a single mom, with his grandfather and little brother coming for my sons PIR…

REC'D LTR FOM SON TODAY SHIP 3 DIV 116

  • He sounded sad in his letter, tired. He said he folds his clothes and they keep
 making him refold them, and he said he knows they are right and what he is there for 

so he continues on...

He said he and 8 others clean the bathroom floor everynight and they call them

the "dirty 9". He say she doesn't mind, he is getting to know many people

and making may friends. I AM SICK! I think it is much harder on us moms…

SUMMARY OF WHAT HAPPENS THE 1ST 3 WEEKS HE/SHE LEAVES; & until Grad Day! SHIP 3 DIVISION 116

2 days after I dropped him off at the recruiters office/to go to hotel;Received a call from Chicago airport he made it there safe

Week 1;  at the end of the week; received a box; addressed to me; MOM in the box is all his clothes he wore going there down to his underwear and a copy of his enlistment papers at the bottom of the box

Week 2; End of week 2; Received 1st of three phone calls to receive;

He said " Mom I want you to know I am ok, you will be receiving something…

SHIP 3 DIV 116, Still Cry everyday...He left Feb 13th; Graduation April 13, 2012

SHIP 3 DIV 116; My son left for boot camp 2 weeks ago Sunday. I think it was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. Dropping him off at his recruiters and hugging him goodbye was like knife through my heart. I cried all the way home and everyday since he left. I received a phone call the next night that he landed in Chicago and that he was using a friends phone that he made it there safe and had to go.   Then I rec'd first of three phone calls that we will receive; Friday the 18th…
