Yesterday I got my first real letter from my son. One page for me, one page for sister and one for the dog. He pulled a muscle in his leg running for chow so Friday April 20th he was on light duty, so he had plenty of time to write. I could tell it bugged him. He said he has nothing negative to say nor anything really positive. He did say he is worried about his final run time but that his RDC (Recruit Division Commander) is going to run him a lot next week to help. He is tired of other recruits getting them into trouble for; then complaining about the punished when it is done so they get punished again.  He did say that he knows his RDC likes him because he is always yelling at him. That shows me his attitude is right. I am so proud of him. He has wanted this since he was 16 and worked hard to lose 50ish pounds to get in. Now he is working hard to make his dream come true. The first 2 weeks were torture waiting for the form letter. The 3 week phone call was a surprise because I would swear it was early. The letter from him was a much appreciated bonus. I hope it get more phone calls but will be happy with the I am a Sailor call. I pray regularly that he doesn't have a problem and can graduate on time. I am excited to see him in a few weeks (hopefully). He is halfway done, according to what other moms say, this is the easiest time for me. The final week will be torture again.

Kbpoohbear this is beautiful, there are no words, you have described it to a T. I understand completely what you are saying. My Son complained about the same thing, he was so frustrated. He would tell me they didn't know how to count and really silly crap they would do, and then the whole div. Would get in trouble. He finally said those that continued being idiots were weeded out, and then things came to a positive. So tell your Son to keep up the good work and soon enough they will be gone. God bless your Son. And don't worry he will make it. Keep the faith and stay positive all will come to be.
