Well it has now been three weeks and still no call or letters from my son Steven. It is very frustrating to not hearing anything from him. I have no idea what is happening or whether he is okay. I cry almost every day wondering to myself If and or when I will get a call or letter from him. To all you moms and wifes who have heard from your loved ones I envy you,at least you know that they are doing okay. God bless all of you.

The call will come and so will the letter. But that doesn'y make waiting any easier....soon the letters will come weekly and that will make things a little better. Stay strong Navy mom. You have had to sacarifice too, just as he has. HONOR COURAGE COMMITMENT. That's wht the navy stands by. Have courage. You can make it, day by day.

My daughter left a week and a half ago and I feel your pain. Keeping busy helps as i can only imagine that it helps our little sailors. My daughter is my best friend and to not talk to her about the day to day things is absolutely killing me. But I have thrown my efforts into planning a fantastic trip up to the great lakes to see her graduate:) As the other moms said, it helps them as well as yourself to write as much as you are able!!

It is hard...very hard. But, know that he is being kept busier than he has ever know busy could be. My son-in-law said he got very little sleep they were kept so busy in boot camp. He actually would write while in the 'Head" (aka bathroom) because Sunday was not long enough to write. My daughter was told he'd be able to call home on the weekend......in 9 weeks she got 4 calls. Their unit must earn the privilege and the minutes to call home! If they are misbehaving they will lose minutes or the privlege comnpletely. You must stay busy by writing sendin out mail daily......that is what keeps them encouraged. I would tape comics or news clippings to the letters....He asked for news about the outside world. So I was kept busy reading newspaper and magaazines to find things to send him. Hang in there....keep busy...the tears and worry are OK your mom!The time will pass quicker than you think...I marked each day off the calendar. The next time you see him you will have a Sailor!
