Hi, you are about to have the proudest moment EVER a a mom. Congratulations! My son left for boot camp one year ago. Time goes so fast - much faster after boot camp. We drove to the City after PIR Friday afternoon - BIG MISTAKE. It was rainy and it took us 3 hours to drive there. I've heard that it's much smarter to take the train if you want to go to Chicago. It is difficult to get good pictures during the ceremony. I would suggest just enjoying every moment of the PIR, and then buy the CD. Too awesome for words. Best wishes to you and your new Sailor!

Thanks so much for all the info. I'm just trying to get a handle on the size of the PIR. How many graduate from boot camp on each graduation day? Any idea?
