While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Christmas

Well he's been settled into California for almost 2 months now and is supposed to come home in the middle of Decemeber. He's liking it and is actually enjoying himself. Only problem is that he;s broke and doesn't have money for a ticket home. We've been talking about him coming home for christmas since the day he left. Now that its getting closer we were both getting so excited. Well the other day we finally thought of an idea where he would be able to afford a ticket, only to have that plan fail. He won't let me pay for it and I'm not able to go there. He's in a really sad point right now and just doesn't know what to do. Im telling him that everythings okay and that theres nothing we can do about it but everything seems to be making him feel worse. I feel so bad.. itt also sucks a lot because Im trying to stay positive and help him out when I just want to cry too. Who knows when I'll see him now.

Comment by Katie on November 19, 2013 at 11:57am: I would totally do that, but he said if I try doing that it would be a waste of money and he still wouldn't come. He's really stubborn like that. But he must of figured something out now, because he says he's coming home for sure now so Im happy anyways!
