I was hoping I would get a call or letter this week, a lot of the other ships/div for the same PIR have gotten call & letters last week.  I knew I needed to keep my phone with me today.  Of course I was at the grocery store and my purse was closed by I thought I heard my phone, by the time I got to an.swer it, he had hung up.  I was so upset with myself, I texted my hubby and told him I was totally upset.  Luckily he called me back!!!!! I was so happy, I found a place in the store that I could talk to him.  I had tears coming down my face the whole time, if anyone would have saw me, they probably would have thought I was crazy.  It was so good to hear his voice that was such a blessing.  I was trying to remember everything I wanted to ask him, but of course I was so happy to talk, I forgot most of the questions.  Doesn't that sound about right.  He sounded just like he normally does and that really helped.  He said they just finished P days last week.  His favorite thing so far is singing the Navy song going through the tunnel.  I just reminded him that he can do this and that we are so proud of him.

Great news, Great Post! When did your son arrive at bc? Just want to compare the time line... as my son arrived on 8/7. Really encouraging that your son sounded good and talked about what he liked! Thanks for your post!

proudmama - he left on 8/1, but he sat in P Hold until there was enough to fill a division, so he probably didn't start until around the time your SR arrived.  He is in Ship 09 Div 370.
